PerkinElmer is seeking a Distributor Account Manager, Consumables who will develop and maintain dealer/distributor relationships, drive growth of consumables business across both new and existing customer base and provide pre- and post-sales support.

Location: On Site in Shelton, CT

Responsibilities

Manage and Grow Consumable Business: Take ownership of cultivating a profitable and growing consumable business with distributors within the assigned territory. Meet or exceed sales targets by effectively managing relationships and sales activities.

Develop Strategic Distributor Partnerships: Forge strategic partnerships with distributors to effectively manage performance, disseminate product information, gather market intelligence, and expand the product portfolio. Identify opportunities for introducing both related and new items to enhance offerings.

Analyze and Propose Sales Opportunities: Conduct thorough analyses of distributor accounts to identify areas for sales growth. Propose actionable strategies and initiatives to management aimed at optimizing sales performance.

Margin Management and Account Evaluation:  Monitor and manage margin performance, oversee inventory levels, and evaluate and score distributor accounts based on predefined criteria. Use these insights to inform decision-making and drive profitability.Tiered Discount Opportunities: Identify opportunities for implementing tiered discount structures based on volume commitments with strategic distributors.Expand Distributor Network: Actively identify and solicit incremental distributor accounts in line with management's objectives. Leverage networking and outreach efforts to expand the distributor network.Sales Reporting and Documentation:  Prepare a variety of reports tracking sales activities, sales prospects, and performance metrics. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of sales-related information.Continuous Learning and Support: Develop job knowledge by studying the product portfolio and participating in relevant trainings. Provide support to the North America Inside Sales team as needed.Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with other departments, including Sales, Product Management, and Shipping, to resolve issues related to product quoting, sales, and shipping processes. Foster collaborative relationships to ensure seamless operations.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, or similar scientific fieldFluent in EnglishPrevious sales or account management experienceRelevant experience in the analytical instruments & consumables industryRelevant experience managing distributors/dealers/indirect sales.Relevant experience in field servicesStrong ownership with ability to work with little or no supervision.Highly organized and able to coordinate information from and follow-up with diverse sources.Commutable to Shelton, CT Monday through Friday

The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $56,680  to $79,760. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
