If selected for this position, your duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Serve as an authoritative representative of the NIH and as an expert consultant within NIH as well as to outside agencies.
Serve as an expert consultant and authoritative representative of the NIH as a member of various advisory boards and committees.
Serve as an expert advisor to the NIAID and as an authoritative representative of the agency by serving as an expert in a specialty area to other governmental and nongovernmental research groups in areas relating to the development and application of statistical techniques to NIAID-sponsored research in the biological and medical sciences.
Provide expert consultation in the design and analysis of NIAID-sponsored extramural studies.
Define, develop, and implement novel data analysis methodologies for very broad and complex research programs and for which few guidelines or precedents exist, requiring judgment, intuition, originality, and creativity.
Provide expertise to senior researchers on the most effective statistical methodologies to use for a specific research project and/or unique scientific technique.
Direct a program of studies and research in the development of new, ground breaking methodologies and techniques in mathematical statistics, biostatistics, and/or epidemiologic techniques.
Assist in mentoring new statisticians and less experienced professional staff effectively and appropriately, serving as a role model.
