As a IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Network/Infosec) at the GS-2210-13 your typical work assignments may include:
Acts as a subject matter expert to establish, implement, and assess cyberspace requirements, vulnerabilities, and processes to comply with DoD CIO, Joint Force Headquarters Department of Defense Information Network (JFHQ-DODIN), and DISA and immediate responses.
Ensures rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of information system and network services.
Maintains vigilance against threats to network and data communications infrastructure ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Provides assessments of information systems across cybersecurity categories including risk, firewalls, security policies and procedures, threat and vulnerability, network and system scanning, virus, web security, compliance, security countermeasures, security system integration, and certification and accreditation processes.
Ensures Activity-owned or -controlled information systems are assessed for cybersecurity vulnerabilities on a regular basis, and that appropriate cybersecurity solutions to eliminate or otherwise mitigate identified vulnerabilities are recorded, directed, and implemented.
Develops and recommends policies governing services and objectives for cybersecurity of activity service delivery.
