Orthopedic Trauma Advanced Practitioner

Leadership Position

 

Baystate Health, western Massachusettsâ premier healthcare provider and home to the University of Massachusetts Medical School â Baystate, is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our Department of Orthopedic Trauma at Baystate Medical Center in western Massachusetts.

 

Position Highlights:

 

  • TEAM-FOCUSED:  Join our team of 14 Advanced Practitioners and 4 Orthopedic Traumatologist.  Provide full scope orthopedic trauma care in our state-of-the-art and only Level 1 Trauma Center in the region. Care for patients in a variety of settings including: Trauma bay, ED, ICU, inpatient units, and educational opportunities to first assist in the OR.

     

  • LEADERSHIP:  Directly supervise and train orthopedic trauma APâs. As a part of our AP Advisory Board, you will work closely with our Director of APs to communicate system information to your team, as well as voice ideas and issues from your team to top leadership. 

     

  • ACADEMICS:  Participate in the education of medical students, and NP and PA students. Opportunity to be involved in quality improvement and departmental growth strategies.

    Qualifications:  Board Certified Physician Assistant. 5+ yearsâ experience in an orthopedic surgery setting with management experience. We seek a driven, creative and flexible leader that is committed to team building and quality improvement. 

     

    Located in Springfield, MA, Baystate Medical Center (BMC) is Baystate Healthâs flagship hospital. BMC is a 716-bed, independent academic medical center and a training site for the University of Massachusetts Medical School - Baystate. We offer over 30 residency and fellowship programs and have recently launched our new University of Massachusetts Medical School - Baystate regional medical school campus. BMC is a major referral care center and the only Level 1 trauma center and pediatric trauma center in the area.
