Key tasks and responsibilities
The Fleet QC Inspector is responsible for the following activities:
In the warehouse(s), or otherwise assigned locations, in a timely manner execute anddocument QC tasks as defined in the Fleet Quality System requirements, procedures, processes and tasks, including but not limited to:In-coming goods receipt check by confirming quantity, specifications, and performing visual andmeasurement checksPositive Material Identification as requiredObtain clarifications from Vendors, SC and Fleet OpsDocument and communicate discrepanciesEnsure proper preservation for storage, handling and packaging for onwards shippingSystem updates and document managementManage "Goods in quarantine/rejected" areaPerform condition assessment on return goods and work with SC, warehouse staff and vendorsregarding returns, replacements or repair of incorrect/damaged goodsWork with SC and warehouse staff regarding the return of goods and re-receipt of goods having been rejected/redelivered/repaired/recertified/recalibrated etc.Cooperate with Offshore external and internal Quality Management Interfaces as required;Obtain and maintain understanding of relevant regulatory Quality compliance requirementsReport on QC targets and other required areas as defined;Maintain an overview of QC findings and drive towards lessons learned / continuous improvement;Ensure the various systems including IFS is updated to sufficiently capture QC findings and actions;Work with the local SC teams and Fleet Ops team to ensure that the QC process are known and all stakeholders, who participate in the process, are trained and aligned;Support Quality Management audits;As required participate in the QC evaluation of subcontractors, Vendors and Suppliers including Quality audits on vendors and subcontractors and monitoring close-out of all non-conformancesIdentify and handle unacceptable conditions, discrepancies, non-conformities and opportunities and improvements;Upload and distribute QC related document management in coordination with TMS, SC and Fleet;Work in close cooperation with the global Category Manager for LogisticWork very closely with TMSSuggest improvement actions to improve QualityOther tasks as instructedQualification requirements
Education
Degree in Engineering or other HSEQ related majorBachelor's degree or long relevant experience may replace formal educationExperienceIdeally 5+ years of relevant experience within the shipping and/or offshore industryPrevious experience from large offshore or land based projects involving multiple disciplinesPrevious experience with Quality Management systemsPrevious experience as AuditorInterpersonal SkillsTeam player with a high level of discipline and integrityPrecise communicator with a focus on detailsProactive and able to work independently, applying a structured and systematic approachAbility to deliver consistent high quality work on timeAbility to work in a multidisciplinary / multinational environmentAbility to solve problems and drive improvementsKnowledgeGood knowledge of quality control and assurance process and methodsUnderstand the various oil and gas related engineering disciplines and their interactionGood knowledge of goods and service used in the Oil and Gas sectorSolid knowledge of management/quality systemsIn depth knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OSHAS 18001, departmental function, terminology and interrelationshipsIn depth knowledge of the relevant requirements of the classification societies and international rules and regulationsCertified AuditorFluent in English (oral and written) and preferably also local language in assigned destinationOtherThe position may require travel to operational offices and will be required to go off-shore for training and communication purposes
