We are currently seeking a Beverage Porter (Part Time) to join our team

Nestled in the heart of the Short North Arts District, across from the street from the Greater Columbus Convention Center, our hotel boasts 1000 guest rooms, 72,000 square feet of event space and several unique dining experiences.

A Beverage Porter is responsible for receiving and processing all purchase orders and invoices. Assists in daily receiving of deliveries from vendors and deliveries to kitchens as well as other areas of the resort. Maintains an accurate inventory with the food and beverage supervisors, assists with keeping up cleanliness and organization of storeroom areas.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous product/inventory management experience 
  • Have a self-driven work ethic with heavy attention to details, organization and cleanliness
  • Have a positive approach to hospitality and teamwork
  • Be able to bend, stoop or lift up to 100 pounds and push or pull up to 150 pounds

An extensive knowledge of wines, spirits and beers is a huge plus

What will I be doing?

  • Receive all non-guest deliveries to the hotel. Ensure quality/quantity checks (checking temperatures, weights, freshness, rejecting products which don’t pass inspection.)
  • All received product delivered to appropriate destination promptly and efficiently, ensuring items are stacked in a safe and orderly fashion and safe use of equipment.
  • Fulfill internal requisitions for beverage orders – communicate to Buyer(s) when products need to be ordered
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all invoice and purchase order processing.  Maintain vendor bids where necessary
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storeroom areas – rotating product correctly and keeping track of product freshness where appropriate.  Daily sweeping and mopping of coolers, freezer and storeroom floors.
  • Maintain all vendor bids and price accuracy.
  • Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to our guests and associates, damage to our property or the property of others. Know the correct action to take in the event of an emergency, and demonstrate this knowledge by acting appropriately in the event of an emergency. 
  • Produce pre-batched cocktails according to recipe
  • Produce juices and syrups according to recipe
  • Assist with monthly inventory
