Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Senior Project Geotechnical Engineer with our Fourmile Project Team. The successful candidate support the project manager with the safe execution of mine development and construction activities for the Fourmile project. Assist in the development of a world class underground asset from pre-feasibility through to operation. Work cooperatively with operations and engineering colleagues to develop and implement a ground control management strategy and program.

Responsibilities:
Direct oversight of the geotechnical component of study reports including mining method reviews, excavation strategies, and both pre-feasibility and feasibility report studies. Provide guidance for mine designs and costing to incorporate the impact of design changes into project forecasts and budgets; ensure incorporation of Geotechnical design assumptions & parameters. Develop & maintain a ground control management program for the Fourmile project. Implement training and audit programs to ensure adherence to the plan. Ensure QA/QC programs for pull testing, grout, shotcrete, resin and backfill are developed and implemented. Plan and budget for geotechnical drilling programs to guide mine development and production. Ensure geotechnical logging data is properly incorporated into the rock mass model, review and sign-off. Supervise, train, and mentor technical services personnel including geotechnical engineers, geologists and geological technicians in data collection techniques. Work closely with Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), Permitting, Asset Management, Reliability, Operations and Technical Services, to research, analyze and provide supporting documents for inclusion in project scopes and Haz-Op. HR Management duties for direct reports including recruitment, progression, succession planning, attendance management and discipline. Identify, develop, and implement business improvement opportunities. Manage external geotechnical consultants and contractors. The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive. Qualifications:
Bachelor of Engineering or Science degree in Mining, Civil, Geological or Geotechnical Engineering or related Engineering discipline required Minimum ten (10) years operating and/or technical experience in an underground Geotechnical role required Minimum three (3) years in a senior role managing geotechnical engineers / geotechnical technicians, and geotechnical projects required Technical communication and presentation skills required Strong communication and team fostering skills required Experience in developing new projects from scoping to operations preferred Project management skills preferred Strong communication and team fostering skills required What We Can Offer You
