BASIC FUNCTIONS: Carpenters will follow the direction of the Project Superintendent on projects. They are expected to do layouts, rough carpentry and finish carpentry. They may also be asked to perform General Maintenance duties as well (please refer to the General Maintenance job description for more information).
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must have High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).
Must have 3+ years experience in commercial construction
Must have ability to provide legible communication; to compute mathematical calculations; to read and comprehend blue prints, schematics, and mechanical nomenclature.
Must be able to use tools of the trade.
Must have advanced math skills.
Must be able to work nights, holidays, and weekends.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Carries out the policies and procedures of the company while maintaining the highest degree of professionalism and teamwork atmosphere as per standards of service.Follows safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Executes job functions as directed by the Project Superintendent. Assists co-workers with job if required. Works effectively as part of a team. Effectively uses tools of the trade. Ability to envision all steps in an assigned task. Proficient at hanging doors, drill and set door hardware, set windows, etc. Ability to do layouts. Strong mathematical skills.
