Job Summary: In this key role, the Vice President is responsible for driving total sales performance within the GA footprint, managing major supplier relationships, and executing Joint Business Plans (JBPs). They will also oversee price strategy, sales structure initiatives, SKU rationalization, and on-premise lead by style programs, while coordinating marketing overlays and driving package liquor sales, including wine and spirits.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to sales directors across the GA territory, ensuring alignment with company objectives and driving high performance across all sales channels. Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture, mentoring and supporting the professional growth of the team.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Major Supplier Contact & JBPs: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, managing Joint Business Plans to align strategic objectives and drive mutual growth.
  • Price Strategy & Maintenance: Develop and implement pricing strategies to ensure competitive positioning and profitability. Regularly review and adjust prices based on market conditions and business goals.
  • SKU Rationalization: Oversee SKU rationalization processes to optimize product assortment, manage inventory, and meet market demand effectively.
  • On-Premise Lead by Style: Lead on-premise sales initiatives, ensuring that product styles and offerings are well-represented and effectively marketed within the GA territory.
  • Marketing Overlays: Coordinate with marketing teams to develop and execute promotional strategies and marketing overlays that enhance brand visibility and support sales objectives.
  • Package Liquor Sales & W&S: Manage and grow package liquor sales, including wine and spirits, ensuring strategic placement and promotion within the territory.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Pricing and Financial Acumen: In-depth knowledge of pricing strategies, price maintenance, and SKU rationalization to maximize profitability and competitiveness within the market.
  • On-Premise Sales Leadership: Proven ability to lead on-premise sales initiatives, particularly in developing sales by style, and coordinating with marketing to ensure effective on-premise presence.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Strong ability to work with marketing teams to develop and implement marketing overlays and promotional strategies that enhance brand visibility and sales performance.
  • Analytical and Data-Driven: Proficiency in using market data (IRI/BIR) to analyze performance, drive share gain, and make informed business decisions.
  • Budget and Profit Management: Strong financial management skills, including experience managing operating budgets and maximizing Gross Profit/Contribution to Earnings (GP/CE).
  • Supervisory and People Leadership: Proven experience in leading and mentoring teams, with the ability to manage and inspire five directors to achieve outstanding results across diverse sales channels.
  • Project and Change Management: Ability to lead large-scale projects such as SKU rationalization and pricing adjustments while ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruption to the business.
  • Negotiation and Communication: Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both with external partners and internal teams, to ensure clarity and successful execution of strategies.
  • Adaptability and Problem Solving: Able to navigate complex challenges and changing market dynamics, finding solutions that maintain company growth and competitiveness.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within the GA territory to engage with suppliers, manage sales teams, and oversee execution across various locations.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Required in Business, Marketing, Sales, Finance, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree (MBA): Preferred but not required, especially for candidates with significant experience in sales leadership roles. An MBA can be beneficial in understanding complex financial management, strategy, and leadership skills.
  • 10+ Years of Sales Leadership Experience: Extensive experience in sales roles, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership position managing large teams and overseeing both inside and outside sales.
  • Territory Sales Management: Proven track record of successfully managing sales operations within a specific geographic territory, with experience tailoring strategies to regional markets.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Demonstrated experience managing major supplier relationships and Joint Business Plans (JBPs), with a history of driving mutual growth and collaboration.
  • Pricing and SKU Management: Experience in developing and maintaining pricing strategies and SKU rationalization processes, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
  • On-Premise Sales and Marketing: Expertise in leading on-premise sales efforts, particularly in developing product sales by style, and aligning marketing overlays to support sales growth.
  • Financial Management: Strong background in budget management, P&L oversight, and ensuring profitability through effective resource allocation and cost control.
  • Experience with KPIs: Demonstrated success in achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) such as net sales to target, market share growth, GP/CE, and budget management.
  • Team Leadership: Experience in leading and managing large, diverse teams, with a focus on fostering a high-performance culture and driving team accountability and growth.
  • Analytical Expertise: Ability to interpret and leverage sales data (e.g., IRI/BIR) to inform strategic decisions, measure success, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Project Leadership: Experience leading large-scale projects such as SKU rationalization, price adjustments, or sales optimization initiatives.
