What we need

Symbotic is currently seeking a Bot Handler who would be responsible for retrieving bots from our storage structure. The bot handler will play an essential role in assuring our bots are properly recovered and maintained.

What we do

The Bot Handler is part of the Customer Operations organization which is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of Symbotic’s robotic material handling system. The Customer Operations organization drives operational excellence by engaging and partnering with our onsite customers to drive best-in-class quality, safety and system performance.   

What you’ll do 

Ensure that the safety commitments in compliance with OSHA, Symbotic, and our customers’ processes and procedures are met daily.Pulling bots from level decks and aisles to charging stations or bot lift for removal.Identifying deck issues such as broken lead-ins, guides, tape, and spills.Cleaning spills and debris on deck.Removing freight from any bots that are being pulled and bringing freight to proper storage area.Identifying and communicating issues with robots that need to be repaired or cleaned by maintenance.Properly documenting information needed for bot repair.Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

Highschool diplomarequired. Demonstrates commitment and ability to work safely. Shows reliability and maintains satisfactory attendance. Ability to maintain required productivity/work expectations.Ability to communicate clearly with the use of a radio.Ability to work with limited supervision following system procedures and manuals.Experience with basic hand tools.A high sense of urgency.Takes critical feedback and recognition positively.Ability to Multi-task and perform multiple job functions at once.Must be literate, written and verbal, in English Language.

Our Environment:

There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure. You may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground.Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit. AT times you may be at a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).Frequent ability to safely and efficiently lift items weighing up to 50lbs and move items weighing up to 80lbs.Stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours and is frequentlyrequired to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. Where you may need to be able to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Must be capable of occasional and/or continuous feeling, seeing, hearing, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, balancing, gripping, climbing, crawling, sitting, handling objects, and repetitive movement using both hands and feet. Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.
