About this job:

We currently have an opening for a Pricing Actuary position, a role that would be primarily responsible for pricing North American business within the Worldwide Pricing & Analytics team.

Who will this position suit?

Within this role, you will become knowledgeable and experienced within actuarial reinsurance pricing. This is an ideal role for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career in the actuarial pricing function. Your core responsibility will be as a Business Partner for the underwriters by providing profitability analyses of markets, segments, and/or individual transactions. You will have the ability to create excellent relationships with colleagues and work with stakeholders to deliver on business targets.

About the role:
  • Provide timely pricing and project work in support of team and departmental objectives
  • Participate in account discussions with actuaries, underwriters, and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with international colleagues on pricing analyses and project teams
  • Prioritize work to ensure delivery of a final product within the specified timeframes
  • Understand insurance and reinsurance terminology including contract language found in reinsurance placement slips
  • Utilize PartnerRe actuarial models and understand the underlying actuarial theory
  • Participate on a variety of project teams (model development, annual parameter studies, ad hoc requests)


Qualifications

About you:
  • You have gained 2 to 4 years of pricing work experience in P&C insurance, reinsurance, or other relevant / related P&C field
  • You hold a Bachelor's Degree and have at least 3 actuarial exams completed.
  • You exhibit clear communication and good time management skills even under pressure; communicate clearly and succinctly whether in oral or written form; are an attentive and active listener.
  • You understand mathematical and statistical concepts in addition to transactional actuarial pricing theory.
  • You are able to identify where potential problems exist and apply basic critical thinking skills to develop solutions.
  • You demonstrate intellectual curiosity to expand knowledge of actuarial and (re)insurance topics.
  • You have the ability to navigate existing systems and processes to accomplish stated business objectives effectively and efficiently.
