  • Lead and manage material handling projects from concept through completion, ensuring they meet project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Develop and refine mechanical designs for material handling systems, including conveyors, cranes, hoists, and other equipment essential to steel manufacturing processes.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and maintenance, to ensure seamless integration and functionality of material handling systems.Apply knowledge of mechanical engineering principles to solve complex problems related to material handling, ensuring systems are efficient, reliable, and compliant with industry standards.Ensure all projects comply with relevant local, state, and national regulations and standards, including safety and environmental requirements.Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during the implementation and operation of material handling systems.Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design specifications, maintenance manuals, and operational guidelines.Propose and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of material handling processes within the manufacturing facility.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on material handling systems, preferably in a metal manufacturing or industrial environment.Proficiency in mechanical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).Strong understanding of material handling equipment, including conveyors, cranes, and hoists.Experience with project management principles and tools.Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations related to material handling and metal manufacturing.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
