The Keck Medicine of USC Specialty Pharmacy is accepting applications for a Pharmacy Technician at the USC Specialty Pharmacy.  This individual is responsible for distribution aspect of pharmacy operations. Activities include but are not limited to the following:

• Order entry in dispensing software
• Drug receipt, invoice/PO verification, assuring orderly stock
• Order fulfillment
• Order shipment, including cold-chain packaging and shipping
• Shipment follow up, trouble shooting, error resolution
• Tracking packages to confirm delivery and reconciling orders in queue
• Ensuring sufficient shipping supply stock and maintaining organization in the shipping facility
• Payment processing
• Scheduling calls
• Answering telephones and addressing patient concerns
• Other tasks as assigned by management

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum experience: 2 years working at a community pharmacy, shipping and packaging of cold-chain and room temperature medications

Preferred knowledge: third party billing, Medicare Part B billing, prior authorizations, financial assistance

Preferred Experience: Retail Technician experience, Shipping, and Filling, Specialty Pharmacy, CernerEMR, NewLeaf dispensing software

Shift based on pharmacy needs:  9:30am – 6:00pm, MOnday – Friday

The hourly rate range for this position is $22.00 – $29.00.  When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Minimum Education: Specialized/technical training
Minimum Experience: 1 year
Minimum Field of Expertise: Completion of accredited pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience as per Board of Pharmacy technician regulations, sec. 1793.4. Knowledge of pharmacy law, rules, regulations, pharmacology & medical terminology, manufacturing procedures. Valid Pharmacy Technician Certificate of Registration, State of California.
