Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
  • Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse
  • Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma

About this unit:

  • 36-bed critical care step-down unit.
  • Patients with post open-heart procedures, pulmonary, cardio vascular, no vents, stroke, diabetes DKA, insulin drips, Cath Lab (post stent or Stemi), Trauma
  • Average patient stay 2-7 Days
  • Very team-work oriented unit, genuinely care about one another and provide support in times of high patient volume.
  • You will get a broad exposure and spectrum of patient, very fast-paced unit, one patient discharges the next is waiting to be admitted from the ER.
  • Great opportunity to gain critical care experience and this is a unit that historically has not had Tech support, great time to be a Patient Care Technician and gain some experience with higher acuity patients

We are a Level II Trauma Center with 24/7 emergency services and an accredited Chest Pain Center. Our Orthopedic Services include Total Joints and Sports Medicine. We are an accredited Cancer Program and Breast Center. We provide Women's Services, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and a Stroke Center. Our Outpatient Services include a Surgery Center, Advanced Wound Care Center, Pain Center, Sleep Disorder Center, Imaging, and Rehab.
