This role has direct leadership responsibility for the Global Learning Solutions team and for the strategy and oversight of Lilly’s global learning systems, processes, and key external partners. It includes formal supervision of a diverse team of learning professionals and reports to the VP, HR-Global Learning & Development.

Global Learning Solutions Leadership

Provide leadership oversight for Global Learning Solutions (GLS) by ensuring the following:

  • Serve as system owner of global learning systems and enterprise learning data/data architecture and integrations
  • Oversee the execution of quality and compliance processes to maintain the operational and validated state of systems, ensuring audit readiness. This includes leading global learning systems such as SuccessFactors Learning Management and ServiceNow Learning Request Workflow.
  • Serve as relationship owner for outsourced learning operations services partner
  • Maintain global learning processes, associated training, and system access activities
  • Handle continuous improvement of GLS-related elements of Lilly’s learner support service, training content landscape, new content/performance support technologies (such as LXP, Workday Skills), and preferred learning suppliers
  • Identify and implement strategic roadmap for learning systems and processes, including partnering to support functional improvements that are in alignment with the GLS strategy
  • Partner with Tech@Lilly, Quality, and HR Technology and Operations teams to manage and improve operations
  • Lead Learning Operations governance team and Change Review Board to sustain excellence and increase innovation
  • Represent GLS in Lilly Global Learning Council and influence learning process and technology agenda across the enterprise; deliver positive learner experience and learning effectiveness/value
  • Provide dotted line leadership to GLO leader in the HR Solutions organization to ensure effective learning support for areas using the GLO services
  • Provide oversight for key external relationships and partner with Procurement on associated improvements
  • Oversee technical elements of Lilly’s US tuition assistance program
  • Seek out external benchmarking/trends, innovation in learning management

    General Leadership

  • Build and maintain an impactful global learning operations team, which includes directing the work, personnel qualification, and development of direct reports
Effectively manage budgetSeek opportunities for continuous improvement across areas of accountabilityDemonstrate inclusive leadershipSupport Lilly’s broader DEI and Talent Management agenda

Basic Requirements:

Bachelors degreePrevious direct supervisory experience5 or more years of experience with L&D data/information & related business processes/systemsQualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Additional Skills/Preferences:

Experience operating cloud-based Learning Management System (LMS) and other learning technologies including digital adoption and content authoring technologies with operational excellenceGXP and quality systems knowledge and experienceExperience designing, implementing, leading and improving processes, including successful implementation of complex processes/systems with global and/or enterprise impactMaster’s degree preferredExperience working in pharmaceutical, life science, and/or highlight regulated L&D environmentExperience with document management systems, system interfaces/data transfer, e-learning technical standards (AICC/SCORM/xAPI), automation, and artificial intelligencein HR and with skills-based approaches to talent management/developmentExperience handling large budgetsStrong written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to influence without direct authorityExperience delivering work with service attitude and approachRelevant experience in data stewardship, curriculum and content design/developmentExperience with contracting and procurement of services (preferably learning services) and partnering with procurement during master service agreement negotiations
