About the Role:
Everest Accident & Health is a leader in the market with solutions across various Accident and Health segments. The product line covers Participant Accidents, Business Travel Accident, Corporate Accident, supplemental health, Occupational Accident, Medical Stop Loss, Professional Sports Disability etc.
This actuarial role is primarily focused on the accident line. It is based in the Warren, NJ or Philadelphia, PA on a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office/2 days remote) and reports to the A&H Vice President, Actuary
Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Collaborate with the Underwriting team and other areas of Accident & Health (Marketing, IT, etc.) to support the ongoing expansion of A&H product offerings and rating/pricing tools.
- Work with A&H management team to evaluate new business opportunities.
- Perform portfolio-level experience study.
- Support the annual budgeting process.
- Assist in the preparation of the actuarial datasets and maintenance of the database.
- Rater development
- Work with the external consultant on A&H filing-related matters.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of working experience in the Accident & Health line, pricing experience is preferred.
- Major medical or medical stop-loss experience is a plus but not a must.
- ASA preferred
- SQL database experience is preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide clear and concise verbal and written communications of analyses, results, and work products.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a similar technical discipline.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in team environment
- Good or developing written and oral communication skills; ability to explain their work in non-technical terms
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
