Primary Purpose: 

The primary purpose of the Starter/Ranger is to provide exceptional customer service to golf patrons.

Work Performed: 

The Starter/Ranger will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments: 

  • Provide good customer relations skills and take initiative to greet guests in a friendly manner;  

  • Ensure service standards are being followed and takes corrective action when they are not in accordance with Atrium's Core Values;  

  • Inform all players of the course rules and cart regulations; 

  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures;  

  • Communicate with golf shop associates to receive updated group information and cart traffic rules while obtaining the starter's sheet; 

  • Audit each golf patron's receipt against the starter sheet while recording the cart number assigned and initial receipt; 

  • Inform players about availability of beverage cart service and the location of turn service; 

  • Ensure groups tee off in a timely manner;  

  • Assist players with maintaining pace of play by cross referencing cart numbers with the starter sheet to monitor players' pace of play; 

  • Maintain adequate water level in the golf course coolers; 

  • Ensure ball washers and other necessary golf course amenities are functional;  

  • Perform or assist with cleaning and maintenance duties as necessary within the golf shop, turf , or grounds. 

  • Complete and submit the ranger report at the end of the shift; and 

  • Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position. 

Qualifications: 

 

Required Prior Experience: 

3 months retail or customer service experience 

 

Preferred Education: 

High School diploma or equivalent preferred  

Physical: 

Ability to lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds.; Ability to bend and squat repeatedly; Ability to walk and stand for duration of scheduled shift  

 

Other: 

Must be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
