We're looking for passionate individuals with a desire to push esports teams, players, and watch experiences to be better As a Software Engineer II in the Esports Platform & Experience team, you will work with a team of producers, designers, and engineers to prototype, build, and own products to foster the esports ecosystem.
As a Staff Software Engineer in the Esports Platform & Experience Team your focus will be around Web & Frontend Technologies. You’re charged with creating, maintaining and improving the Riot Esports Web Properties such as LolEsports.com & ValorantEsports.com. Those properties are the prime stage of our online esports presence, and are ready to be taken to new heights. Your challenge will be moving in lockstep with our yearly Esports Calendar, and bringing those experiences online to our players.
Staff Engineers at Riot are the tip of the spear. You’ll be working closely with Product Managers, Designers and other Crafts to iterate and create. You’ll actively serve as a mentor to younger members of the team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
You will be part of the Esports Platform & Experience Team team in Riot Esports Technology, reporting to the Senior Manager, Software Engineering.
Responsibilities:- Partner closely with Design to create and iterate on well crafted user experiences
- Work with Service Engineering to define the feature requirements and bridge the gap between users and our data platform
- Build out our web properties, work with our partner teams and platforms to bring experience to life.
- Grow the Web Standards at Riot by being a good steward to our codebases and share your knowledge within the company
- You quickly iterate on prototypes and new areas to find feasible solutions for the products we are building
- Work closely with other leaders in this space to build out a unified web strategy across Riot
- Be a steward for Insights, Metrics and Telemetry across our offerings
- 6+ years of experience with Frontend Technologies
- Deep hands-on programming experience with Typescript, React & CSS-in-JS paradigms
- Real-Life Experience using modern Web Frameworks, such as NextJS, Remix or SvelteKit
- You have a good understanding of modern web architecture and technologies
- Experience creating and implementing a technology strategy for large-scale projects.
- Understanding of and experience with GraphQL
- Serverless & Edge environments are something that excites you
