Full-time Description  Lube Technician (entry-level)

Position: Lube Technician (entry-level)

Reports To: Fleet Operations Manager
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Shift:  Schedule dependent on current assignment
Salary: $28.95 per hour w/additional $2.00 Shift Differential after 3pm.

Overview:
The Lube Tech (LT) position is responsible for conducting essential preventative maintenance and proficiently handling basic repairs on Eureka's fleet of recycling collection trucks. By meticulously inspecting and servicing the vehicles, the LT plays a vital part in ensuring the vehicles’ optimal performance and reliability, contributing directly to Eureka’s mission of zero waste.


Responsibilities:

1. Complete maintenance and repairs on equipment as assigned through a work order system or by the Fleet Maintenance Manager, such as replacing headlights and air filters and fixing mirrors and wipers.

2. Perform oil changes and top off fluids per the preventative maintenance schedule.

3. Review the condition of trucks daily upon their return to the lot according to a schedule. Report back to managers and supervisors about findings and priorities.

4. Document all work completed, labor, and parts used in the maintenance software system.

5. Adhere to all safety, reporting, and security processes and policies.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude and experience working with tools and/or vehicle maintenance
  • Accurate, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Reliable attendance
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekend and/or evening work
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Must be able to stand or walk for entirety of shift
  • Able to crawl underneath as well as on top of trucks, following safety protocols

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, as required for maintenance tasks
  • Stand or walk for extended periods during the shift to perform maintenance duties
  • Ability to work in various positions and confined spaces to access and inspect vehicles
  • Must climb in and out of truck; bending at the waist, reach overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally; carrying, pushing and pulling
  • Must have dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of buttons and levers and use of feet to control pedals on equipment

Working Conditions:

  • Works indoors and outdoors in a shop environment; subject to seasonal and adverse weather conditions
  • Regular exposure to fumes, dust and odors as well as noise from equipment operation
