Full Stack Developer (On-site)

 

Location Plano, TX

Position: Not Remote

 

Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Full Stack Developer to serve our diverse base of global clients.  As a member of our team, you will build cutting edge, cloud-based software that powers modern business.  An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a diverse, collaborative, geographically distributed team.  Similarly, the ideal candidate is an expert engineer who values the “team”, drives continuous improvement and is unafraid to challenge the legacy status quo with creative cloud-based solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Build applications ensuring that the code follows latest coding practices and industry standards.
  • Design and develop the business logic and backend systems of the MVP experience.
  • Work closely with other developers and QAs to understand the system end-to-end.
  • Write unit, integration tests and functional automation.
  • Develop high quality, well documented, and efficient code.
  • Challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions.
  • Build using modern design patterns and architectural principles.
  • Support product owner in defining future stories and tech lead in defining technical designs.
  • In the future, this role may evolve to include product support & QA responsibilities.
  • shaping and implementing strategic products to ensuring that the organization stays on the leading edge of technology.
  • Contribute across the technology stack, from database and DevOps infrastructure that supports continuous deployment, to developing native apps.

 

 

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer and/or architecting large complex systems.
  • Proficiency in following languages: Java, JavaScript.
  • Experience with front end and backend frameworks: AngularJS and NodeJS.
  • Experienced in application development using AWS (Certification desired)
  • Good Experience with MySQL.
  • Experience and/or familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages.
  • Experience writing scalable and secure APIs.
  • Experience with Spring Boot and Rest Framework for developing Microservices.
  • Good problem-solving & communication.

 

 

Salary and Other Compensation:

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
