The Chief Medical Officer (CMO), at the VA West Texas Health Care System (VAWTHCS) is responsible for all clinical, administrative and educational aspects of the Primary Care operations at the assigned CBOC.
The CMO has overall responsibility for planning, evaluation and management of patient care aligned teams (PACT) and primary care physician (PCP) operations within the assigned CBOC in order to ensure fidelity to the PACT model, facilitate an environment of collaboration and effective care coordination for care delivered by the program and overall delivery of health care within the facility.
The Training Resident Site Director manages the Clinical Internal Medicine Residency Program, the Training Resident Coordinator, and the Academic Patient Centered Team (PACT) in the West Texas VA Health Care System. The incumbent manages the work of internal medicine residents, fellows and students while embedded in various clinical programs, ensuring that work is assigned in an appropriate and systematic manner that meets the facility and the VA's guidelines/standards.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
Work Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday
