Responsibilities:As a novice to advanced beginner interventional radiology technologist, works with proceduralists as part of a procedural team to perform interventional procedures. Operates medical imaging equipment (single and bi-plane fluoroscopic angiographic equipment, Ultrasound, Intravascular Ultrasound IVUS) and assists with device management. The procedures range from routine diagnostic angiographic procedures to complex vascular, non-vascular-interventional and therapeutic procedures. Accountabilities 1. Accountable for correctly identifying the patient and ensuring correct patient identification with all imaging equipment and assuring integrity of patient identity in all information systems used with procedure.2. Participates in time out.3. Sterile Procedures – Properly sets up sterile procedural trays for correct procedure. Properly preps patient for exams (drape, site scrub/prep, table set up, prime lines). Follows sterile technique when preparing for and assisting with procedures.4. Assists with radiographic/fluoroscopic imaging technique for optimal image quality while maintaining minimum radiation exposure and fluoro times.5. Follows medication management guidelines when handling medications including proper documentation, storage, security and labeling.6. Ensures proper and consistent utilization of radiation protection devices and maintains accurate patient fluoro log.7. Room turnover – Cleans equipment between uses. Properly disposes single use items. Keeps work area clutter free. Contacts Environmental Services immediately when needed. Assesses inventory to ensure no shortages of supplies and ensures study is charged/logged.8. Participates in all mandatory staff meetings, in-services and training programs to ensure continued understanding of all departmental policies, procedures and performance improvement processes. Participates in Medical Imaging and corporate PI projects.9. Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Education• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology required Licenses and Certifications• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required• CRT - State of California Certified Radiologic Technologist required• CRTFP - State of California Radiologic Tech Fluoroscopy Permit required• ARRT - American Registry Radiologic Technologists (Effective for all employees hired after 8.30.2020) requiredPreferred• ARRT(VI) - ARRT Vascular Interventional Radiography • ARRT(CI) - ARRT Cardiac Interventional • ARRT(CVI) - ARRT Cardiac-Vascular Intervention (still valid but not available for new examinees)Disclaimer:
