ROLE OVERVIEW
The Business Technology team is looking for a DevOps Engineer who will be instrumental in managing and optimizing our IT infrastructure. The role has a strong emphasis on Windows/Mac endpoint management, corporate networking, and IAM solutions. The role demands a proactive, detail oriented approach to maintaining and enhancing the reliability, security, and efficiency of our IT systems critical to empowering our customers.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Leverage modern engineering best practices—including Infrastructure as Code (IaC, Terraform), configuration management, log aggregation, monitoring, telemetry, alerting, and automation—to scale and optimize business critical IT functions and services.
- Implement and maintain automated IAM solutions, particularly using Okta, to streamline access requests and enhance our security posture across the organization.
- Manage network infrastructure including configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of WAP’s, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN to support a high-availability, high-performance multi-site corporate network.
- Develop and enforce policies for network and endpoint security, in alignment with our security partners, industry best practices, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of endpoint and networking issues, providing technical support and incident resolution.
- Lead and execute projects for system upgrades, migrations, and integrations, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing business operations.
- Collaborate with Business Technology team members and cross-functional departments to align IT infrastructure with business strategies and project requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and peers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in systems engineering/corporate infrastructure/IT with a comprehensive background in AWS, IAM, IaC, automation, Mac/Windows environments, and network administration.
- Proficient in implementing, managing, and scaling IAM solutions, specifically Okta.
- Familiarity with enterprise network management tooling like Meraki and the underlying protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, WAN/LAN, OSPF, BGP).
- Experienced with Windows 10/11/Server, Active Directory, Microsoft SCCM/Intune, Powershell, and network and configuration management tools.
- Solid understanding of Python, Ruby or other scripting languages for automation and configuration.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
SALARY RANGE
Benchling takes a market-based approach to pay. The candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and work location. For this role the base salary range is $170,000 to $230,000.
