Ascension St. Vincent's Blount Med Surg is a private 24-bed Medical Surgical unit. We also have 10 Rehab beds, included in those 24 beds, where a patient may receive Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Long Term IV antibiotic or Wound Care, and can stay up to 21 days at a time.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
