What you will do

In this vital role you will play a critical role in maintaining the health, safety, and productivity of Amgen staff through the delivery of high-quality clinical care and program leadership. Key responsibilities include treatment of workplace injury and illness, coordinating and managing return-to-work and reasonable accommodations processes, case management of work-related injury/illness, performing medical surveillance exams, and championing health promotion and wellbeing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in an occupational health setting, hold a current valid registered nurse or nurse practitioner license, and possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. This is an in-person, onsite position that requires a high level of competency with electronic medical records, knowledge of Occupational Health and safety principles, and strong organizational skills.

  • Clinical care and treatment of workplace injury and illness within clinical license scope
  • Coordinating and managing return-to-work and reasonable accommodations process
  • Case management of work-related injury/illness and episodic personal health matters
  • Performing medical surveillance exams, international travel health consultations; immunizations, and screening tests
  • Acting as a strategic partner and resource within the Environment, Health, and Safety team
  • Championing health promotion and wellbeing initiatives
  • Insuring compliance with State, Federal such as OSHA, workers compensation and ADA regulations
  • Managing site AED program and supporting site emergency response
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, management, human resources, and security teams
  • Compliance with ethical, legal, professional requirements, and corporate policies and proceduresWin

  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Occupational Health experience OR
  • Associates degree and 10 years of Occupational Health experience OR
Bachelors degree and 6 years of Occupational Health experience ORMasters degree and 4 years of Occupational Health experience ORDoctorate degree and 2 years of Occupational HealthPreferred Qualifications:5+ years of experience in an occupational health settingCurrent valid nursing licenseCurrent furnishing and DEA license (for nurse practitioners)Current CPR/BLS Certification Experience with workers compensation, case management, OSHA regulations, and maintaining OSHA recordsExperience with audiometry and spirometry and OSHA regulated medical surveillance, certification highly preferredCompetency with electronic medical records and documentationExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to motivate others and work effectively in teams and independentlyPossess strong clinical skills and ability to rapidly prioritize responsibilities in response to clinical need and staff populationKnowledge of Occupational Health and safety principlesSkill in developing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.Computer literacy in Microsoft office, competency in power point slidesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailsThrive
