Summary:

Creates, corrects, modifies, rewrites, verifies and runs existing and new CNC machining programs.  Defines manufacturing operational details including machines to be used, work to be performed, tools to be used, feeds and speeds, and cycle time. Participates on productivity/corrective action teams to review product design with respective departments to optimize efficiency and cost effectiveness manufacturing methods.  Utilizes the programming software to simulate tools on machines and tests parts.  Establishes and maintains product data electronically creating work instructions and sketches required to fabricate parts. 

Typical Responsibilities:

-Program in Mastercam and manual program changes
-Figure machine offset positions - through the use of Edge Finders/Mathematical equation
-Analyzes the job orders, drawings and blueprints
-Proves program through 1st piece approval
-Deburring and polishing
-Works from verbal and written instructions or drawings/sketches to produce small intricate parts
-Design and develop machine tooling and assembly fixtures for manufacturing.
-Assists both Engineers and Designer on developing cost efficient fabrication of parts for new design developments
-Works close tolerances using a variety of gauges and precision measuring devices
-Maintain all equipment including Lathe, End Mill and any other related equipment.
-Complete own set-ups
-Kitamura experience in setups
-Work with engineers on research and development and tooling projects.
-Uphold all ISO/AS and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities
 

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

CNC programmers can gain skills through vocational schools, technical colleges or community college programs, or apprenticeships. Typically, it takes 4-5 years of combined education and on-the-job training to become fully trained. To excel, programmers need many years of experience and must show aptitude for math, problem-solving and computer skills.

-High School Graduate or equivalent plus Trade or Vocational school training essential. Minimum of five years direct experience.
-Ability to read blueprints required
-Able to complete own machine set-up and saw own material is required
- Some tool and die making experience desirable.
-Verification of specified requirements may be requested at the discretion of the Company.
-Math Skills: Good math skills will help to understand complex instructions, how schematics work and make sure items are designed and built correctly.
-Attention to Detail: CNC programmers will work with precision equipment. Being off by millimeters could be a critical error. Keen attention to detail is required.
-Mastercam:  intermediate to advanced knowledge expected.

-Able to communicate with co-workers

Work Arrangement : Onsite  

Salary Range : $40.00 

  - $58.00
