Summary

This position is located in the Dental Department of the Zuni Comprehensive Community Health Center which provides "general practice dentistry/clinical dentistry" for the Zuni-Ramah Service Unit. As Staff Dentist you will perform a full range of professional dental duties in connection with the treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard corrective, restorative or preventative measures.

Duties

• Provides periodontic, surgical, endodontic, pedodontics, orthodontic, prosthodontic and/or preventive dentistry services for the community.
• Provides dental care services to individuals eligible for services provided by the Indian Health Service in homes, schools, clinics, job sites, and other community locations within the Zuni Service Unit.
• Treats assortments of systemic diseases recognizing their symptoms pertaining to dentistry and recommends them for treatment to contract dental facilities as appropriate.
• Provides information to patients and families about status of dental health and planned dental treatments, and recommendations for medications and proper dental health care.
• Participates in developing and maintenance of public relations with other health disciplines and tribal health groups, as well as other official and non-official health education and governing organizations.
