Job Summary: The Broadcast Engineer supports and maintains broadcast and IT equipment under minimal supervision. Provides technical advice and expertise to operational and program activities. Oversees technical quality and transmission of the broadcast. May assist with technology planning and budgeting.

Additional Department Summary: Provides technical oversight and knowledge for the Crimson Tide productions department. Serves as the operations/technical coordinator before, during, and after events in conjunction with the main broadcast engineer. Serves a vital role in SEC network productions. Sets up, maintains, and schedules remote equipment for use during SEC network productions, Big Screen Productions, and others as needed.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in broadcasting or engineering and four (4) years of technical broadcasting experience; OR master's degree in broadcasting or engineering and two (2) years of technical broadcasting experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to communicate positively and effectively, verbally and in writing. Interpersonal skills to with people from a variety of backgrounds and levels of knowledge. Ability to build and sustain positive, credible working relationships with staff and internal clients. Ability to meet deadlines under stressful circumstances. Ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities. Ability to read and comprehend complicated procedures and processes, negotiate technical assistance, and establish schedules.
