Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing the business intelligence and data warehouse practices at Tractor Supply Company. This requires comprehensive understanding of data analysis, data architecture and data modeling. This position requires comprehensive understanding of database structures, systems, theories, principles, practices and related tools (Business Objects, Micro Strategy, or Cognos). Additional responsibilities include technical leadership, monitoring other team members, and leading projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

Transform business strategy into solutions by managing the design, development and deployment of business intelligence applications across the enterprise that yields tangible financial results and increased efficiencies. Grow a team of highly skilled and motivated staff that can function in both the technical world and the business world, translating business opportunities into creative business intelligence solutions. Facilitate the creation of big data solutions and associated architecture, to deliver high-performance, high-integrity business intelligence reporting and ad hoc data mining and data analytics capabilities. Coordinate with other Information Technology (IT) teams to develop robust architectures, development standards, and best in class policies and procedures that result in reduced system downtime, and reduced maintenance cost. Conduct research and make multi-million dollar decisions on business intelligence and data warehouse products, services, protocols, and standards in support of development efforts. Manage the delivery of the business intelligence roadmap and the integration with business unit specific roadmaps. Review and analyze existing applications’ effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop cultivate, disseminate, and enforce functional policies, procedures, and quality assurance best practices. Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to data systems. Develop, implement, and maintain Large Language Models, Data Replication, Prompt Engineering and Performance Management associated with AL and GenAI operations.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 10+ years equivalent technology work experience with 3+ years of management experience as a manager or team lead for a data warehousing or business intelligence related team. 7+ years experience developing or managing Business Intelligence tools such as Business Objects, Micro Strategy, or Cognos. Experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting multi-terabyte data warehouses. Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of large scale software solutions. Hands-on experience with data architecture, data mining, data modeling, and business requirements gathering/analysis. Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Design, or related field is preferred. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Superior ability to conduct research into application development issues and products. Superior knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies. Superior knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. Superior ability to work independently and manage workload prioritization in order to deliver high quality work products on time and with minimal direction. Superior communication, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills. Ability to develop new problem-solving approaches and formulate innovative solutions.
