We are looking for a HEOR Lead who is strategic, collaborative, and results driven to join us in our US Epilepsy & Rare Syndromes Medical team. This hybrid role is based in our Atlanta, GA corporate headquarters. Relocation assistance is available.


About the role
This individual will apply their technical HEOR expertise to UCBâs Epilepsy & Rare Syndromes portfolio to generate robust scientific evidence that informs healthcare decision-making, resource allocation, and policy â thereby elevating the standard of care for epilepsy and rare syndrome patient populations. This individual will apply their knowledge of health systems, payers,  and other important US healthcare stakeholders to identify data gaps and the most pressing opportunities.  In addition, you will deliver evidence-based resources that enable UCB field teams and advance our strategy.  This individual will leverage their deep subject matter expertise in HEOR (economics, epidemiology, statistics, and health services/clinical research) to teach colleagues how to design and deliver compelling HEOR evidence that improves lives and advances UCBâs strategy.

Who youâll work with
Internally, you will work with field-based Medical Outcomes Liaisons focused on health equity and population health, Leadership, Medical Teams, Global Real World Evidence, Market Access, Data/Analytics, Policy/Advocacy, Corporate/Government Affairs, Marketing, Legal/Compliance, Patient Support, and Commercial Teams. Externally, you will work with healthcare providers and important organizations, such as health systems, payers, data partners, and consultants.


What youâll do

  • Interpret, propose, design, and execute HEOR evidence (e.g. treatment patterns, real world data, burden of illness, etc.) that is used proactively and/or reactively with decision makers to advance UCB portfolio strategy
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in HEOR
  • Write robust research protocols that maximize the impact of each study
  • Coordinate with UCBâs publications team to develop, review, and publish evidence (abstracts, posters, and peer-reviewed manuscripts)
  • Effectively communicate UCB-generated HEOR evidence and effectively address questions
  • Identify and maintain successful research relationships with HEOR thought leaders
  • Develop and utilize cost-effectiveness, budget impact, and health impact models to communicate the public health and economic value of UCBâs portfolio
  • Contribute to strategic planning efforts for UCBâs product portfolio to ensure prioritized HEOR studies deliver meaningful, robust, and competitive data that meet current and future needs
  • Work with cross-functional partners (listed above) to determine evidence needs and communicate relevant data
  • Assist with developing dossiers, burden of illness reports, and literature reviews


Interested? For this role weâre looking for the following education, experience and skills

  • Masterâs Degree â preferably in Public Health, Health Economics, Health Services Research, or Epidemiology
  • Previous professional experience (â¥3 years) working in a data analytics role for a pharmaceutical company, payer, or other US healthcare system stakeholder
  • Previous academic and/or professional experience (â¥3 years) designing and conducting health economic modeling, observational research, and/or claims studies
  • Prior experience teaching/training specific to HEOR (economics, epidemiology, statistics, and health services/clinical research)
  • Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications
  • Previous experience working in Neurology (more specifically, the epilepsy therapeutic area within the anticonvulsant class) is preferred
  • Previous experience with projects/initiatives focused on health equity is preferred
  • Payer and/or health system work experience either as an employee or a research partner is preferred
  • Previous experience teaching/training specific to HEOR (economics, epidemiology, statistics, and health services/clinical research) is preferred
  • Previous experience working in a HEOR role for a pharmaceutical company, payer, or health system (3 â 5 years) is preferred
