Entry Level Accounting Clerk

Our client is seeking a bilingual individual to join their team and assist with accounting duties. In this role, you will maintain vendor files, analyze discrepancies, audit petty cash, and process purchase orders.
Qualified candidates will have their bachelor's degree in accounting, 3 years of experience in clerical accounting and the ability to read and speak English and Japanese.

Hours Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Location Honolulu, Oahu Pay $17 to $18 an hour Responsibilities- Prepare and coordinate deposit activities.
- Monitor customer accounts for nonpayment and delayed payments.
- Maintain vendor files and perform monthly reconciliation.
- Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices.
- Process credit card payments.
- Track and audit petty cash.
- Verify and process purchase orders to appropriate vendor invoices.
- Assist in month end reporting procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in clerical accounting.
- Bilingual in English and Japanese.
- Written skills in Japanese are a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Proficiency with QuickBooks software.
- Comfortable working with computers.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures.
- Knowledge and compliance with relevant state and federal financial regulations.
- Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
