Responsibilities and tasks of this role include, but are not limited to:

Overseeing the departmental aspect of strategic planning and programmatic growth with a focus on quality of the clinical and educational programsLeading the development and enhancement of departmental clinical and educational activities, in accordance with the facility s mission and visionSupervising all professional activities and clinical staff within the Department and within subspecialty divisions of the DepartmentThe Chair of Family Medicine will report directly to the Hospital s Medical Director while collaborating closely with the Family Medicine Service LineManaging staff including appointing departmental members to committees, establishing and coordinating faculty and staff development, periodically evaluating faculty and staff as well as all faculty appointments, reappointments, and promotions according to Hospital Medical Staff By-LawsSupport and collaborate with the leadership, staff, and trainees of the Family Medicine Residency ProgramEnsuring professional performance of all practitioners with clinical privileges in the DepartmentCollaborating with administrative and nursing leadership to build a team-based clinical environmentDeveloping policies, procedures and practices for the Department that ensure the provision of high-quality patient careAbout Northwell Health System

D. Degree or equivalent from an accredited College of MedicineCompletion of residency with Board CertificationCurrently licensed as a physician in the State of New YorkOutstanding organizational, communication and management skills, and an ability to work collaboratively with all staffPrevious division, department, or GME leadership experience highly preferredDiversity and Health Equity
