Gastroenterology opportunity in Virginia College Town

Carilion Clinic is looking for a Gastroenterologist to join their team in Christiansburg, VA. This Practice strives on efficiency. Outpatient Endoscopy is located at the Akers Farm location that all providers utilize as well as Carilion New River Valley Medical Center and Carilion Giles Community Hospital. Olympus Equipment is used at all facilities. Volume will be present for new provider from day 1. Will provide call for one hospital that handles 6 outlying smaller facilities. Call is currently 1 in 4 (providers preference is taking 7 days straight).
Qualified Candidates:
Board eligible or board certified in gastroenterology Fellows and/or practicing Gastroenterologist
EUS/ERCP skills welcomed

Christiansburg is located in Montgomery County and is 30 miles southwest of Roanoke, VA. and close to Blacksburg, VA which is best known as the home of the 25,000-student, 2600-acre campus of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute (better known as Virginia Tech). Blacksburg, population 40,000, is the largest of the small triangle of towns including Christiansburg, Radford, Merrimac and Fairlawn. These great surrounding towns have excellent public schools. The area and Blacksburg in particular combines small-town feel and college-town amenities with a mountain setting, outdoor recreation, and proximity to Roanoke. There are many outdoor activities to take part in the surrounding area including, hiking, biking, Horseback, many site seeing activities and 2 beautiful lakes in the area. (Claytor and Smith Mountain). For travel options, it is only 40 minutes to Roanoke Regional Airport and a 2.5-hour drive to Charlotte. Amtrack currently picks up in Roanoke taking you to D.C. or N.Y. and a station will be coming soon to the NRV. Blacksburg was ranked one of the top places to live in, Dream town by Outdoor Magazine. Our four seasons are quite lovely with mild winters for the most part and makes this the perfect area to retire in.
