  • Produce error-free financial reports for the CFO to present to the Finance Committee and Board.
  • Analyze and summarize financial information to meet external reporting requirements.
  • Identify errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
  • Review and recommend modifications to financial systems and procedures.
  • Provide input into the department’s goal-setting process.
  • Assist with external audits and tax returns.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Develop and document business processes and financial policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and CFO to improve financial procedures.
  • Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with established schedules and with input from the rest of the accounting department.
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger maintenance.
  • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the attention of the Accounting Manager and CFO.
  • Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, interpreting, and summarizing information and trends to create key performance indicators and forecast metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting (CPA license is a plus).
  • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Science in Accounting (MSA).
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements and experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Minimum of five years’ professional experience in the healthcare industry (pharmacy experience is a plus).
  • Proficiency in technology, especially Excel spreadsheets and computerized ledger systems (familiarity with SAGE 300 is a plus).
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Outstanding record-keeping and organizational skills.
