Position Summary: The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller. This role will be responsible for the daily and monthly reporting for multiple entities.

Key Roles / Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and maintain the general ledger to ensure accuracy of coding and costs.
  • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts as well as investments in subsidiaries
  • Preparation of month-end entries including payroll, interest, expense, and revenue accruals
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Assist with supervision of A/P and A/R personnel.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and prepare monthly depreciation entries.
  • Assist with annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements and reports
  • Preparation of ad-hoc reports as needed.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 3 - 5 years accounting experience demonstrating a strong proficiency with accounting and financial principles
  • Building Supply Distribution or Commercial Real Estate experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills including Excel.
  • Strong character and ethical values
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to be effective at communicating with all levels of the organization as well as suppliers, vendors, and customers.

Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Positions self to install equipment, including under desks.
  • Moves throughout the building to access files.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
