Payroll Tax Analyst

Our Opportunity:
The Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for ensuring the Companyâs ongoing compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. This individual is responsible for analyzing, researching, and resolving issues and addressing payroll related tax inquiries. This individual will specialize in payroll regulatory compliance across all states in which employees reside. This individual may also work with partners in Accounting, Human Resources, Third Party Vendors, and other internal departments on various initiatives.
What Youâll Do:
- Serve as an escalation point for payroll, tax, reporting, and system issues.
- Execute QTR and YE process â Run payroll tax integrations, research, correct discrepancies and prepare reconciliations.
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual workerâs comp audit and tax incentive requests.
- Execute amendment processing.
- RSU processing including pre-payments/reversals, running integrations, researching, and correcting tax variances.
- Create and maintain complex reports from Workday and other systems.
- Act as a mentor to other payroll team members, providing training, support and guidance on projects, tasks, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to identify issues and demonstrate curiosity to investigate and resolve.
- Ability to initiate and lead conversations to drive payroll projects and issue resolutions, including directing work of team members.
- Performs maintenance on payroll tax updates and is responsible for testing new or changed payroll tax functionality, providing detailed design and program specifications.
- Proactively assess, refine, and implement Payroll tax process improvements and tools, including requirements, system design, data flows, interfaces, testing, validation, documentation, and team training.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of tax planning projects and system testing.
- Research laws and regulation changes and how they affect the payroll system and processes.
- Support Payroll management and team members with projects and other tasks as required.
What Youâll Need:
- Bachelorâs Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field. An appropriate combination of education and work experience will be considered.
- 3+ years related experience processing high volume, multi-state payroll for a mid to large size company.
- 3+ years related experience in payroll tax.
- Hands on and strong knowledge/experience with ADP Smart Compliance, Workday, and KRONOS.
- Understanding of federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, taxes, benefits, and other payroll related matters required.
- Understanding of payroll accounting.
- Consistently achieves goals by prioritizing work and resources appropriately.
- Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Hybrid model with possibility for remote
- Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word)
- Able to work independently.
- Able to work in a high growth environment under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work collaboratively.
- FPC or CPP certification preferred.
