Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. This position is anticipated to start Summer 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assist with data interpretation using spreadsheet analysis while effectively maintaining data documentation.
- Collaborate on desktop noise modeling efforts to support renewables, energy, transportation, and land development projects.
- Assist with field measurements, equipment maintenance, and associated documentation.
- Prepare reports and memos to deliver analysis results and communicate technical concepts, including clear, complete, and accurate data representations.
- Research and interpret local noise ordinances and general planning/zoning policies to identify applicable noise regulations in different jurisdictions.
- Core responsibility includes processing data from project team members and anticipating information needs and presentation format as part of engineering workflows.
- Strong capabilities in data manipulation and analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Basic understanding of acoustic concepts, including noise level metrics and common environmental noise sources.
- Ability to independently manage multiple assignments, determine and set job task priorities and work with limited direct supervision.
- Pursuing or possessing a degree in acoustics, physics, environmental planning, mechanical engineering, or related field.
- Familiarity with renewable energy systems, mechanical (HVAC) equipment, or environmental policy.
- Experience using CadnaA, SoundPlan, WindPro, TNM 2.5, or another popular noise modeling software.
- Experience using sound level meters for field noise measurements.
