The Family Nurse Practitioner will function as a healthcare provider in an outpatient setting, providing evidence-based care, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative healthcare. The role is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, consultation, health promotion, and care coordination.Responsibilities

  • Obtains complete medical history from patients and performs comprehensive and focused physical examinations.
  • Conducts and documents comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis.
  • Organizes and presents historical and physical data to the healthcare team to permit identification of a medical problem and determination of appropriate diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates the patient plan of care, including ordering and interpreting laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies/results.
  • Executes diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as indicated.
  • Provides follow-up and health maintenance care to patients based upon accepted standards of care and best practice.
  • Instructs and counsels patients with respect to health promotion and/or health maintenance.
  • Provides relevant management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families, and caregivers related to current care and preventive health measures.
  • Facilitates/participates in quality-related initiatives through planned group processes, workshops, seminars, and staff meetings to improve clinical and system practice performance.
  • Maintains complete and accurate records of contacts with patients.
  • Collaborates in research projects and protocols and applies evidence-based best practices to patient care.Requirements
    • Current and unrestricted Florida licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
    • Board Certification in Family or Adult/Geriatric Primary Care.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
    • Master's degree or higher in nursing with completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Education Program.
    • At least 1 year post-clinical experience with strong assessment skills.
    • A high degree of critical thinking and clinical expertise in working with patients in an outpatient setting.
    • Compliance with the COVID-19 vaccine mandate enforced by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS).Benefits
