The American Gaming Association (AGA) seeks a Director, Research to manage the AGA's casino gaming and sports betting data collection efforts and contribute to its broader research and communications agenda. Reporting to the vice president, research, the director is a key member of the larger strategic communications team.
The director is responsible for managing industry databases, other qualitative and quantitative research products throughout the year and for leveraging AGA research to respond to inquiries from the media, academics or industry members.

Responsibilities
Lead the AGA's industry data tracking efforts, most notably managing the AGA's Commercial Gaming Revenue Database and monthly industry revenue reports. Other responsibilities include maintaining AGA's national casino property and sports books lists.
Identify industry trends and expand the AGA's data analytics capabilities.
Assist in conceptualizing, developing and executing various gaming related research products for both public and industry member audiences across the broad spectrum of policy maker and consumer concerns related to the industry.
Manage third-party vendors to evaluate and develop proposals, and to ensure research projects are completed on time, on scope and on budget. Effectively communicate research pipeline, status reports and potential hurdles.
Concisely translate research findings into final products that advance or alter the industry media narrative or provide members with meaningful business insights.
Engage and build relationships with regulators and member companies to facilitate data gathering efforts.
Support the broader communications team with ad hoc media, fact checking and communication requests.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of professional experience with a history of progressive achievement and advancement in a similar role.
Experience conducting primary research, e.g. public opinion polling, opposition research, business intelligence, market research, etc.
Track record of data analysis or database management in a professional role.
Experience simultaneously managing multiple ongoing projects in various stages of development or execution.
Experience in the gaming industry or in a management, public affairs, public relations or other consultancy is a plus.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to present complex data in terms non-specialized audiences can understand.
Strong project management skills.
Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
Experience with data processing, polling and analytics tools a plus (Tableau, SPSS, Qualtrics, Kantar, Displayr, etc.)
