The Associate Director, Patient Engagement, Global Digital Engagement Delivery leads digital strategy implementation for clinical trials worldwide with the goal of accelerating enrollment. This role is responsible for innovative tools, streamlined patient experiences, and global alignment. This role is also accountable for collaborating across functions and geographies to orchestrate implementation of country initiatives and technologies that align with and enhance the global framework. The Associate Director is responsible for maintaining a culture of quality and inspection readiness including understanding of necessary local and geographical requirements and driving decisions for on time delivery of Lilly assets.

Technical Leadership

  • Collaborates with the Digital Senior Director to operationalize the global digital strategy, including scope, measurements, resources, and timelines.

  • Works with internal and external geographic leaders to understand global digital touchpoints and deliver an integrated strategy.

  • Translates the digital strategy into multi-year roadmaps and measurement plans.

  • Leads the digital roadmap, ensuring on-time delivery of key initiatives.

  • Pursues and integrates new digital vendor partnerships.

  • Leads digital innovation planning and execution.

  • Generates health-literate content for clinical trial platforms.

  • Oversees the impact of the global digital strategy and drive value.

    Enterprise Leadership

    • Aligns global digital engagement implementation plan with key decision makers.

    • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet enterprise needs and regulatory standards.

    • Proposes and leads digital improvement programs.

    • Monitors trends and enhances digital patient engagement.

    • Influences internal/external approaches for better experiences.

    • Drives adoption of innovative recruitment strategies.

    • Uses data for continuous improvement.

    • Fosters a culture of partnership and efficiency.

      Minimum Qualification Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in scientific or health related field, digital specialty/marketing/communications (or equivalent degree).

      • Minimum of 3 years experience in pharmaceutical industry, clinical trials/drug development.

      • Minimum of 3 years experience in communications, preferably digital communications.

      • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the country. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, or TN status) for this employment position.

        Other Information/Additional Preferences:

        • Post-graduate degree (e.g., Pharm D, M.S., M.B.A. or Ph.D.)

        • Broad understanding of pharmaceutical drug/device development process

        • Experience scaling new functional and digital capabilities across geographies

        • Ability to influence team members and deliver to timelines

        • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills

        • Prior experience in managing complex/cross-functional projects.

        • Ability to translate customer insights into effective plans

        • Cross-functional agility within a matrixed organization

        • Critical thinking skills in a dynamic environment

        • Proven track record of operational compliance within the pharmaceutical industry

        • Successful track record implementing global programs/systems

        • Innovative, creative, and knowledgeable about new communications trends

        • Attention to detail

        • Minimal travel required: 0-10%
