Payroll / Accounting Specialist (211155)

A leading food distributor is looking to add a Payroll / Accounting Specialist to their team In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s payroll administration and processing, as well as processing vendor invoices, daily bank preparation and deposit along with cutting weekly checks.

The ideal candidate for this role will have an associate's degree in accounting or at least two years of accounting and payroll experience.

Hours Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm Location Aiea, Oahu Pay $45,000 to $50,000 a year Responsibilities
  • Administer all aspects of payroll to include; running and calculating commission reports; processing and submitting payroll to third-party payroll provider; issuing allotment coupons; distributing paychecks.
  • Verify and reconcile commission reports are accurate for payment to Account Managers.
  • Maintain payroll files.
  • Research, resolve, and respond to employee disputes/questions regarding their paychecks and any government and/or payroll company notices.
  • Reconcile the payroll distribution and make according journal entries for finance department.
  • Process vendor invoices for payment.
  • Handle weekly check run.
  • Handle daily bank preparation and deposit to bank (night depository/over the counter deposits); cash to replenish Petty Cash check.
  • Create cash receipt batch when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or CFO as necessary.
Qualifications
  • High School Equivalent and/or Associates Degree from an accredited institution, or at least 2 years of accounting and payroll experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software (i.e. Excel, Word, Access), 10-key calculation and data entry.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and payroll laws.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of business phone system and other office equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task and have analytical and problem solving abilities.
