RELOCATING TO MUKWONAGO FEBRUARY 2020 Under direct supervision welds fabricated metal components on the production floor. Welds are performed on parts or subassemblies where cosmetics may not be a factor. Set up gas arc or MIG welding equipment. May position and fit basic metal components. Produces component parts to blueprint tolerances. Essential Functions of the Job - Maintains welding equipment and makes adjustments on equipment to prepare it to weld different parts or subassemblies - Performs various simple welding operations (i.e. pins knuckles joints) following blueprint weld symbols with limited supervision - Moves parts and/or workpiece manually by crane and secures workpiece in weld fixture or table using clamps and wrenches - Maintains production quantities efficiencies and quality on parts welded - Performs quality control inspections and cleans welded components - Prepares surfaces to be welded and works with blueprints to verify accuracy of pre-assembled metal components to be welded - Performs simple measurements using devices or gauges to check work - Positions or tightens braces jacks clamps cable slings or may bolt parts in position for welding or riveting.
