The Supervisor of Medical Imaging Informatics and Coding Compliance is responsible for ensuring clinical exam builds support correct clinical use and promote correct billing compliance. Provides guidance, recommendations, operational and clinical use oversight for multiple imaging information systems operations. Provides direction, oversight and education to the Medical Imaging staff, leadership and radiologists in informatics workflows and billing compliance. Responsible for direct supervision, work direction and performance management of charge capture compliance team and imaging informatics teams.

 

Accountabilities

1. Acts as a liaison in digital imaging initiatives within the Medical Imaging department and other departments.
2. Ensures clinical exam builds support correct clinical use and promote correct billing compliance.
3. Recommends best practice workflows and monitors optimal use of imaging and imaging related information systems to include, billing and regulatory compliance.
4. Recommends best practice workflows and workflow corrections.
5. Provides direction, oversight and education to the Medical Imaging staff, leadership and radiologists in informatics workflows and billing compliance.
6. Provides guidance, recommendations, operational and clinical use oversight for multiple imaging information systems operations.
7. Participates in activities of vendors in all phases of installation, implementation and training of new systems, applications and upgrades.
8. Attends and participates in departmental/hospital meetings. Attends seminars and training sessions necessary to maintain appropriate level of professional competence.
9. Accountable for activities related to maintaining a comprehensive and accurate Charge Distribution Master (CDM). Works collaboratively with Medical Imaging leadership to ensure CDM accuracy, timeliness and appropriate interface with the RIS/PACS product.
10. Coordinates and supervises the PACS on call team providing physician and staff support through assuring systems integrity and troubleshooting.
11. Provides oversight and support for Radiologists’ workstations.
12. Directly responsible (with support from Human Resources) for employee engagement and people management processes including interviewing and selection, time and attendance approval, providing timely feedback and performance evaluations, employee development, employee retention, disciplinary actions and terminations.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

EDUCATION:
• High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred

 

EXPERIENCE:
4 years of related experience in radiology operations in an acute hospital setting required

 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
• One of the following is preferred
o ARRT - American Registry Radiologic Technologists
o ARDMS - American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
o CNMT - NMTCB Certified Nuclear Medicine Technician
o CIIP - Certified Imaging Informatics Professional
o EPIC – Certified Radiant Build
