The Nursing Assistant I will work Per Diem, Various Shifts & Weekends and will perform patient treatments assigned by the RN and other health care team members. They assist with direct and indirect patient care within their scope of practice, supporting patients, nursing and medical care teams. The care delivered is in collaboration and under the supervision/delegation of the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).  The Nursing Assistant (NA) shares accountability for the quality of patient outcomes. In select departments, the NA role may also include some clerical support functions (such as phone answering, filing, computer data entry, etc.).

  • Performs Activity of Daily Living (ADL) care including, but not limited to:

Performs patient data collection, including but not limited to:




Communicates effectively with nursing and healthcare team, including but not limited to:

  • Understands and reports out of range patient data values to covering RN.
  • Recognize and report patient changes to covering RN.
  • Performs shifts reports with oncoming staff.
  • Demonstrates initiative and understanding of job duties through communication with healthcare team and own self initiative. 

Customer Service, this includes but not limited to:

  • Relating and respecting each patient individually.
  • Meeting needs of each patient to ensure excellent patient care is delivered. This includes a patient’s cognitive, physical and emotional needs, as well as their personal preference, cultural and religious beliefs.

Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed:

  • Performs other duties as requested by healthcare and leadership team, within the scope of practice.





Education:

  • High School or GED, preferred.

License/ Certification:

  • BLS within 6 months of hire date, required.

Physical Requirements:

Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs, of force constantly to move objects. 

  • Occasional: Balancing, Climbing, Crouching, Typing/ Clerical/ Dexterity, Kneeling, Repetitive Motion.
  • Frequent: Grasping, Hearing, Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Seeing/ Monitor/ Computer Use, Standing, Stooping, Talking, Visual Acuity (color, depth, perception), Walking.
  • Constant: Fit Testing.

Hazards: 

  • Occasional: Burns, Chemical, Electrical.
  • Frequent: Bodily Fluids/ Bloodborne Exposure.

Working Conditions: 

  • Occasional: Noise, Wetness, Dust, Gases, Mists, Odors.

Travel:

  • No Travel Required.

USD $16.65/Hr.





USD $24.97/Hr.



Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
