Overview This on-site position is based in Bridgewater, NJ. Insmed R&D team is seeking a Scientist with significant experience with LC-MS.  The successful candidate will be responsible for biologics characterization and quantification with high resolution LC-MS to support projects from various teams. This role offers the opportunity to work with a range of modalities, including therapeutic proteins, AAVs, etc. Additionally, the scientist will document methods and studies and present data and results to collaborators from different teams.

Responsibilities Responsibilities:

Independently perform routine peptide mapping, intact/native protein analysis from sample prep, data acquisition, data analysis to data reporting, providing analytical support of various research projects.Develop and optimize new LC-MS method to meet emerging analytical needs. Qualify new method and document them into SOPs. Update existing SOPs to reflect procedural changes.Offer scientific insights and apply critical thinking to the planning and execution of experiments.Perform routine housekeeping to maintain lab compliance, including instrument maintenance, ordering and stocking lab supplies, managing reagents and samples, and adhering to safety protocols. Perform instrument troubleshooting if necessary.Qualifications:PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field with 0-1 years of post-doctoral experience; or MS with 4+ years of experience; or BS with 6+ years of experience (level commensurate with education and experience).Hands-on experience and deep understanding of LC-MS based protein analysis such as post-translational modifications (oxidation, deamidation, glycosylation, etc.), reduced/intact/native protein analysis, disulfide bond identification, sequence variant analysis.Experience with data analysis and interpretation, along with presenting data to collaborators to support project development. Prior experience with software such as Biopharma Finder, Proteome Discoverer, PEAKS Studio or Protein Metrics software is preferred.Experience with LC-MS maintenance and troubleshooting such as Orbitrap and QTOF systems.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.Prior experience with host cell protein analysis, AAV characterization or immunopeptidomics is a plus.Prior experience with label-free, TMT or immunoaffinity protein quantification is a plus.

Salary Range Insmed takes into consideration a combination of candidate's education, training, and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.

The base salary range for this job is from $89,000.00 to $119,267.00 per year
