Seattle, United States Washington Permanente Medical Group Full time
About Us

Washington Permanente Medical Group (WPMG) is a clinician-led, self-governed and independent multi-specialty group practice, providing care to the more than 700,000 Kaiser Permanente patients in Washington state. We work unencumbered by traditional health care obstacles and without silos; prioritizing people over profits, collaboration over ego, and driven by a singular goal: our patients' health. At WPMG, we take care of the whole person, with a team to address the fundamental, social, and emotional needs that contribute to total health. We are clinicians motivated by the desire to make a purposeful difference in the communities we serve, and in how health care is delivered.

We are looking for people to join us who understand that being a leader doesn’t always come with a job title; it’s about who you are, what you believe, and how you show up every day.
People who work to know, respect, and guide their colleagues and patients. People who focus on serving their team and the people they take care of by inspiring, including and holding themselves and each other accountable for everything they do. People who have the courage to commit, improve, and work with others to find solutions to help make this the best place to give care and the best place to get care.

WPMG hospitalists work closely with our Cardiologists and Neurosurgeons to provide comprehensive care. Our hospitalists also work with Swedish Neurology teams to provide full spectrum care in the case of stroke.

Central Hospital Inpatient Service Unit (CHIPS) is an 18-bed unit operating at KP Central Hospital. Central Hospital provides medical and surgical inpatient services with the addition of telemetry for low acuity patients. Physician care is administered by an Internal Medicine Hospitalist team, Surgeons and Consultative Specialists. Radiology, laboratory and pharmacy services are available 24 hours a day. Bedside nursing care is supplemented by respiratory, physical, occupational and speech therapists as well as dietary services and social work/discharge planning. Hospitalist duties involve admitting medicine patients, providing expert consultation for the surgical, other specialty and Urgent Care patients in need of medicine consultation and cross cover of admitted patients.

Community

Seattle is a seaport city and the seat of King County. With an estimated 686,800 residents, Seattle is the largest city in both the state of Washington and the Pacific Northwest region of North America. The city is situated on an isthmus between Puget Sound and Lake Washington. A major gateway for trade with Asia, Seattle is the fourth-largest port in North America in terms of container handling as of 2015. Named by Kiplinger's as one of the "10 Best Cities for the Next Decade," the Seattle metropolitan region is a great place to live, visit and do business. It's home to some of the most recognizable global companies including Amazon, Boeing, Microsoft, Starbucks, Costco, Nordstrom, REI, and Alaska Airlines. Whether you're looking for economic opportunity, cultural events or educational excellence, you'll find it—and much more—in Seattle.

We are dedicated to building lifetime relationships with peers and patients in Washington State’s richly diverse communities. Many know the Pacific Northwest as an attractive tourist destination with beautiful scenery, friendly people, and a host of cultural and recreational opportunities. These elements, and others, make Washington an excellent place to live.

Equity, Inclusion and Diversity

In our local communities and across the nation, Kaiser Permanente sets the standard for respectful care. With multicultural staff, equity, inclusion and diversity councils, medical interpretation resources, outreach efforts, educational programs and more, Kaiser Permanente puts people first in our medical centers and beyond.
