ANM is also responsible for assisting the Nurse Manager with directing and organizing the unit specific orientation for all clinics that the NM is responsible for, training and development of staff and for directing, supervising, and evaluating their performance.
ANM functions as nursing role model, educator, practitioner, and manager, providing leadership to an interdisciplinary team.
ANM demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of patients served in the assigned area of practice. This knowledge includes understanding changes associated with aging and principles of growth and development relevant to the adult and geriatric population.
Applies the nursing process principles within a collaborative, interprofessional practice setting.
Effectively determines the most appropriate use of expertise in systems issues requiring intervention and
quality and performance measures.
Determines the most appropriate use of expertise in nursing programs, staff education, attention to issues that require intervention, and quality and performance measures.
Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the inter professional team.
Possesses knowledge of and active participation in quality improvement processes and related to nursing programs.
Influences organizational level care outcomes by providing consultation and clinical guidance within nursing
practice and by implementing improvements in clinical health care delivery systems.
ANM will use tact, discretion and patience when explaining policies and procedures and/or when assisting in finding an answer to a problem.
ANM displays a helpful, proactive attitude toward customers by answering questions and resolving problems to enhance customer satisfaction. The ANM accepts assignments willingly, volunteers to help others, and works cooperatively and effectively with co-workers and supervisors displaying a helpful, positive attitude.
Ensures staffing levels are adequate to operate clinics, will assist in staffing when needed.
