As an integral part of Alexion's Bioinformatics and Data Sciences team, you will provide a wide range of advanced statistical expertise, guidance, and support to research teams spanning the fields of Early Discovery, Translational Medicine, Clinical Development, and Diagnostics. You will join a highly skilled team that prides itself on creating strategic value and catalyzing change across Alexion through the innovative application of data sciences. You will need to effectively collaborate with other colleagues at Alexion with diverse scientific backgrounds to deliver novel quantitative solutions and analyses.
You will be responsible for:
Design, implement, analyze, and report findings from targeted statistical research studies; provide consultation and guidance to researchers on experimental design, statistical research methodologies, and scientific standards for in vivo/in vitro studies, assay development, biomarker research, and genetics/omics data analyses to advance drug development research.Collaborate with investigators to formalize analysis plans and reporting criteria; provide recommendations on statistical analysis strategies, measurement reliability, model identifiability, and interpretation and presentation of statistical findings.Develop and implement optimal statistical methodologies to address complex scientific inquiries, enhancing team capabilities in AI/machine learning, bioinformatics, and medical informatics.Foster and maintain collaborative relationships across various disciplines, serving as a subject matter expert for research teams, internal and external committees, and other stakeholders and collaborators.Work with the Data Operations team to plan and document computer data file structure as well as to develop, program, manage, and maintain complex statistical databases.You will need to have:
PhD in statistics, biostatistics, data science, computational biology, bioinformatics, or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience, or Masters with a minimum of 6 years relevant work experience.A proven track record in experimental design, statistical analysis, and modeling in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.Knowledge of molecular biology and human genetics; strong enthusiasm and curiosity about the intersection of biology, data, and technology.Ability to work independently within a distributed team environment made of both internal and external stakeholders and contributors.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities.Excellent communication and presentation skills with specific experience in cross–functional collaborations.The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office–based role, employees must be able, with or without accommodation, to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem–solving and non–linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.We would prefer for you to have:
