Position Summary:

The Production Line Lead will oversee and delegate tasks to a small team, ensuring the timely completion of print projects while upholding quality standards.

Shift: Monday - Wednesday, 5:30pm - 6:00am

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in all General Worker duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to understand and communicate details of job ticket information through department software and paperwork provided.
  • Direct employees to finish kitting/assembly while also reporting to Supervisor for next kitting/assembly assignment. This includes delegating duties to other employees on the line to ensure that the next kit is ready to run.
  • Assign tasks to General Workers to help keep Line flowing, as well as help them advance.
  • Make necessary adjustments during kitting process to keep lines moving as efficiently as possible without jeopardizing quality.
  • Ensure accuracy and proficiency on their kitting line.
  • Report to Supervisor if issues occur regarding temps or other employees.
  • Respect and cooperate with individuals and assist others in reaching objectives.
  • Follow all safety rules/regulations, company procedures and policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas.
  • Continually strive to learn and improve all processes.
  • Instruct, coach and support personnel in performance of their job descriptions while running small kits.
  • Responsible for data collection of kitting paperwork, hour to hour boards, etc.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in kitting operations and/or equivalent experience in printing operations helpful.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Front-line supervision experience plus technical and interpersonal skills are helpful but not mandatory
  • Basic mathematics skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and fractions.
  • Reliability though attendance, punctuality and attention to workstation.
  • Strong problem solving, decision-making and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to provide work direction to and train employees.
  • Ability to efficiently schedule work through dept.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to work well with both line employees and management.
  • Ability to communicate/understand written as well as oral instructions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency in any language (including ASL) preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to visually inspect all work for defects
  • Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping
  • Manual dexterity for repetitive work.
  • Frequent walking and standing.
  • Chemicals: N/A

The national pay range for this role is $19.00 - $21.00/hour. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission, o incentive program.
