Job Description: General Laborer - Handyman/PainterLocation: Conroe, Texas
Contract Position: 6 Months
The General Laborer - Handyman/Painter will be responsible for handyman duties in the office and shop locations. They will prepare, power wash, sand, paint and clean all the required offices, shops, conference rooms, hallways, etc. in the office/shop. They will also be responsible for cleaning and moving furniture, equipment and items in the office and shop. The individual will be required to replace air filters, change out light bulbs, clean cameras and help to maintain the office and shop areas. They will be responsible for communicating and working with third party vendors to show them and explain jobs that need to be completed and ensure all jobs are carried out with all safety requirements; and all other duties as assigned.
Detailed Description:
ResponsibilitiesTo complete all priming, surface preparation, power washing, painting, to all building surfaces (internal & external), shop and office and equipment at the specified locationTo liaise and communicate as needed with end users to determine requirementsTo specify and order supplies or materials as needed for workTo carry out other maintenance roles such as furniture or equipment removal, documentation or administration tasks and assistance thereof in times of reduced painting demand or as requiredAssist in keeping buildings and work areas or storage areas clean and orderlyAssist with the hosting of sub-contractors and receipt of deliveries when necessaryMaintain painting systems, and equipment in good orderEnsure the yard and shop spaces are clean and organizedEnsure that all equipment is clean and in good working orderAbility to communicate, including ability to read, write, and speak English and to promptly follow verbal and written directions in EnglishPerforms other related duties as assignedJob Requirements: ·
Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools to perform a range of mechanically oriented functions including independent use of heavy-duty handheld and long-handled toolsAbility to safely navigate the yard and shop work sites with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc. during normal operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather)Ability to operate heavy equipment when neededLift and carry 50 pounds independently while walking on uneven surfacesBend, stoop, kneel, twist, climb and crawl occasionally in work areasDemonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills including ability to promptly give, and follow, directions when working with others and ability to interact productively with coworkers and third partiesWear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all designated timesWilling to be on call after hours, work extended schedules, including extra days, occasional nights, weekends, and holidays.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent6+ months of stable related work history6+ months painting experience (preparation, cleaning, painting)Preferred QualificationsPrevious handyman experienceAdditional Details:
This position requires the person to work in both an office and warehouse facility environment. The role must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. Also, must be able to work closely with others and under deadlines including time-sensitive response situations and be willing to work extended schedules.
